On Saturday, February 10th, our Community Hub transformed into a festive haven adorned with lanterns and vibrant decorations to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Dragon.

More than 65 members of the local community, spanning different ages, joined us for an enriching afternoon filled with culture, joy, and community spirit.

We kick-started the afternoon with some yummy spring rolls that seemed to disappear as quickly as they appeared, setting the tone for an afternoon full of Lunar New Year-themed activities. Everyone who came immersed themselves in crafting lanterns, decorating trees, and cultivating Chinese Money Plants, all while partaking in the symbolic act of sweeping away negative energy (qi)

A standout moment of the day was the captivating performances by our Ageactivity 60+ members, showcasing Traditional Chinese Dances that provided a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Chinese culture and the diverse ways Lunar New Year is celebrated.

Events like our Lunar New Year celebration are not just dates on the calendar; they are opportunities for us to come together, learn from one another and celebrate our diverse cultures.

A huge thank you to who came along, volunteered, performed, and contributed to making it an afternoon to remember!
