It’s Volunteers’ Week, and we want to thank all the incredible volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes of our community association, making cups of tea, helping with administration, gardening, packing food parcels, and helping out at events. Our volunteers are the backbone of our community, and Castlehaven wouldn’t exist without them.
Our Food Bank Manager, Anna, began volunteering at our Food Bank in 2020 after becoming unemployed during the pandemic. She wanted to give back to her community and make a positive impact on the lives of others. She quickly became an integral part of our team due to her incredible hard work and dedication, and earlier this year, we were thrilled to offer Anna a part-time position as our Food Bank Manager.
We also want to celebrate the invaluable contributions of our park volunteers who selflessly dedicate their time to help maintain our four-acre community park. From pruning to weeding to planting, our volunteers play a crucial role in preserving and enhancing this important community resource.
And we can’t forget our dedicated reception, admin and all the ad-hoc volunteers, whose efficient administrative support and friendly welcome help keep our community centre running smoothly. Thank You!
If you’re passionate about making a positive impact in your community, we have a variety of opportunities for you to get involved. Whether you’re interested in volunteering on a regular basis or for a one-time event, we have roles ranging from administrative tasks to gardening to helping in our Food Bank, we welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
