Castlehaven Food Bank

Our Food bank began as a reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, financial hardships and job losses in the local area. Since 11th June 2020, our food bank has been run for the community by the community and has become a lifeline for over 5,000 local people. We truly believe that no one in our community should go hungry, which is why we're dedicated to providing healthy, nutritious food parcels for those struggling to put food on the table.

How To Get Help

Our Food Bank is only open on Thursdays. Service users must live in Camden Town with Primrose Hill ward, and priority will go to residents living in the postcode NW1 8. If you need an emergency food parcel, please follow these simple steps:

1. Get in Touch

Please call us on Wednesdays between 9:30am - 12:30pm on 07776724099. Our Food Bank team will be on hand to guide you on what information we need to arrange your emergency food parcel, and will also make a note of any dietary requirements/allergies you or your household may have. If you cannot get through to our phone line, please leave a message on our answerphone, and we will call you back. Alternatively, you can email us at

2. Arrange a Time to Pick Up Your Food Parcel

If eligible, our team will arrange a food parcel pick-up slot with you. These will happen only on a Thursday from our pick up point:

3. Collect Your Food Parcel

When you visit our Food Bank, you will be welcomed by one of our lovely volunteers, who will hand you your food parcel. However, if you do need to access other services such as support and advice on benefits, employment, mental health, domestic violence and toy donations, please speak to a member of our team.

Help Feed The Community

Since the late eighties when we had a soup kitchen for rough sleepers and those living in poverty, we haven't seen such a high demand for food in our local area. We are dedicated to providing this vital service for as long as we can, but we need your help to do this.

Our Food Bank relies on non-perishable food donations to operate. We welcome donations from individuals also local organisations and businesses and promise to use them to help our community. We also accept non-food items such as toiletries and hygiene products. For more information please email

• Join our Food Bank Team

Join our dedicated team of helpers on Thursdays to pack food parcels, help with admin or deliver food parcels. Your support can make a real difference - email to enquire today.

We also accept volunteers from local/businesses who would like to give back to their community. We can offer one-off volunteering sessions to help pack food parcels or create bespoke CSR days. Please email for more information.
