Seasons Greetings & A Happy New Year

Seasons Greetings & A Happy New Year

 Tue, December 22, 2015

Everyone at the Castlehaven Community Association wishes you a wonderful festive season and a Happy New Year.

We have had an amazing year here working with people locally, nationally and internationally. We've had many interesting and exciting projects and events throughout the year - such as planning and attending the 800th Lord Mayors Show, exhibiting creative works of art in the British Museum, holding a Big Green Picnic in July with over 500 local people attending, our successful Syrian Refugee appeal and our first pantomime which was enjoyed by over 120 local kids, families and older people.

Throughout 2015 we've continued to provide numerous activities, classes, trips and opportunities for people aged 0ys-100yrs through our fantastic Ageactivity 60+, Castleyouth 11yrs-16yrs, Littlehaven Under 5's and Castlehaven Community Park projects. Plus our floodlit astro turf football pitch - daily free football sessions for local kids under 19yrs provided by local coaches and teams. We've placed a number of interns from across the globe, who've helped us with numerous tasks, research projects and planning of activities, which have been beneficial for both Castlehaven and the students who've helped us throughout the year!

We've made a huge impact in our community park by planting over 8500 spring, summer bulbs and plants, that we're excited to see grow and colour the parks during the spring and summer months. With the diversity of our new plants & forna within the park we hope new wildlife will increase too. We've also worked hard to keep it clean and safe for local people to enjoy throughout the year, with the valuable help of local volunteers and businesses, without them this would be an impossible task! We have worked hard on a new calendar of master classes, free kids & family activities and plant swap sessions for local people to enjoy throughout 2016.

During 2015 our partnerships with local tutors, colleges and businesses have grown stronger. With their support, volunteering of many hours and help they have made it possible for us to continue to provide free and affordable activities for local people to enjoy and learn from,

Our online community has grown too, we now have over 1890 followers on Twitter and 530 likes on our Facebook page, which has given us a chance to reach out to people who'd otherwise miss out on all that we do here at Castlehaven. Through this medium we've helped raise awareness of many local and national events, campaigns/appeals and services that local people can find out about and benefit from.If you would like to follow or like our pages please click on the icons below. Thanks.

As 2015 comes to a close an important year for Castlehaven is on the horizon, 2016 is our 30th Anniversary! We hope that you'll come along to a number of planned events and activities we have in store throughout the year to help us celebrate this wonderful achievement. We will be advertising these on the website soon!

Huge thanks to everyone who's been a part of Castlehaven! Have a wonderful festive season and we hope to see you in the New Year!
