People of Castlehaven: Nick Cosgrave

People of Castlehaven: Nick Cosgrave

 Mon, October 14, 2019

Castlehaven is a special place because of the wonderful people who use our services. Everyone has a story to tell and we want to hear yours.

In this month’s People of Castlehaven we’ll be hearing Ageactivity 60+ (AA60+) member and regular volunteer, Nick Cosgrave’s story.

You may have seen Nick driving a mower around our Community Park or drinking tea in the Horticulture Hub. He’s an essential member of our volunteer team and we can’t thank him enough for his amazing work.

Nick’s also been an active member of AA60+ for over 10 years and joining the project has had a “great effect” on his life. During a summer trip to Claction Upon Sea Nick was candid in his praise of Castlehaven: “Since I’ve been coming here my depression isn’t as bad and I’ve met lots of people”.

Nick was also appreciative of having access to a social environment that isn’t a pub, describing Castlehaven as a place to go “where I’m not being enticed to drink all the time”.

When asked to sum up AA60+ in one word, Nick simply replied: “I can think of lots of words, but one word wouldn’t encompass how I feel about Ageactivity”.

AA60+ exists to combat social isolation and improve the lives of its members such as Nick Cosgrave.
