Our Super New Mural

Our Super New Mural

 Thu, June 09, 2016

We're super excited with our new mural on Castlehaven Road, please come down and take a peek, we couldn't be more pleased with it.

This project is part of our 30th Birthday year and is a nod to the old mural that we used to have when we started a long, long time ago...

There's a story behind every part of the new mural, but firstly we wanted to say an extra special big thank you to Julian and James of Positive Arts, without who this amazing piece of art would never have happened.  We're so grateful, thank you.

We wanted the mural to truly reflect the area of Castlehaven and the story behind Castlehaven Community Association.  And so we started with a field in the middle, or more specifically Field No.7 as this area was affectionately know in the 1700's! The Piano keys hark back to the Old Piano Warehouse (where we are now sitting) and the huge Piano making history behind Camden Town. The Railway Arch gives a nod to all the employment in the area that sprang up as the railway system got going in the 1800's.  The Peace Dove is taken from the original mural that you can see in picture.  Finally the hands represent the community, the wildlife our wonderful community garden and the balloons our birthday year.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, this fabulous mural is going to put smiles on people's faces for years to come!
