New Nature Area coming to Castlehaven

New Nature Area coming to Castlehaven

 Thu, September 06, 2018

We are incredibly excited to reveal that work on our Community Park’s Nature Area is almost ready to begin. Yesterday, Castlehaven CEO Eleanor Botwright had a productive meeting with representatives from Groundworks, the organisation commissioned to project manage the construction, which is due to be completed March 2019.

The new spot will be a great community asset, that will provide a picturesque green space right in the heart of Camden. We want community residents to be proud of the Nature Area, as it will benefit the local environment and wildlife.

Unfortunately, the Community Park has had issues with anti-social behaviour and rough sleepers, but we believe the nature area will alleviate these problems in a creative and positive way. We are also working closely with the local MET police, Camden Council, Safer Streets Team, and Community Safety Team to find the best solutions in tackling anti-social behaviour.

We would like to thank the Mayor of London’s Greener City Fund, and HS2 Community Environment Fund for providing the money to make this area possible.

Friends of Castlehaven Community Park also deserve a special thank you. None of this would be possible without your hard work.
