How we’re tackling dog fouling & litter

How we’re tackling dog fouling & litter

 Wed, January 31, 2018

Castlehaven Community Park is one of the few green spaces available in Camden Town, and we pride ourselves in looking after our parks all year round with the help of our trusted team of volunteers and community gardener, Paul. It’s the perfect place to come and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, and we have people from all walks of life who enjoy using our green haven. With this, though, come issues with waste.

Since the start of 2017, our volunteers and community gardener have been counting how many bags of litter and dog poo they’ve been picking up from our community parks on a daily basis. You may have seen our weekly tally documenting these numbers in our community park notice boards since March of last year. In March, 140 dog poos and 61 bags of litter were picked up. By December 2017, these figures had significantly decreased to 23 dog poos and 40 bags of litter.

We feel that our weekly tally has positively influenced dog walkers and showed them that dog poo goes in the bin. It's important to keep our community parks clean and tidy for all to enjoy. If you'd like to see a copy of our data, please contact
