The Castlehaven Community Association was established in 1985 as a result of a group of local residents concerned about the lack of local facilities for children and older people. Since its inception the charity and company limited by guarantee has always been managed by a voluntary board of local residents.
Without premises the first employee, appointed in January 1986, worked from a desk in another voluntary sector premises. However, having identified and secured funding to refurbish the derelict ‘Old Piano Warehouse’ Castlehaven opened for business in August 1986. Since then it has gone from strength to strength; now the proud lessees of a four acre community campus Castlehaven delivers services to over 10,000 people per annum.
Castlehaven is a small but high profile, vibrant community association that continues to develop and respond to the needs of local residents.
