Helping Hands is our volunteering project here at Ageactivity 60+. Each week our friendly helpers give hundreds of hours of their time to assist, both here at Castlehaven and in the wider community. It’s a great way to get out and about, to make new friends and to stay happy and healthy, so whether you have a few spare hours or can help more regularly, why not get involved! Experienced, inexperienced and new helpers always welcome.
Everyone has something special to offer, be it skills, interests or talents - and we're here to help you share these and make a difference to your local community. Why not offer expertise gained in your job to run a class, club or organise a talk for fellow members, or share your passion, hobby or pastime? It couldn’t be easier and we are here to help find the opportunity that most suits you, your availability, talents and interests! We also have lots of established links with other local charities and organisations such as the Chalk Farm Foodbank and Little Village Camden - so if you're interested in lending a hand somewhere in particular we can help to connect you and support you to get started!
We regularly update this page with our current opportunities, so do keep any eye on it! Alternatively, if there is something in particular you would like to do or you have an idea that you want help putting into action, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 7692 2238.
Our role is to help you help others. Let’s make a difference through Helping Hands.
Are you a keen reader? Would you like to share your passion with a local young person?
Then why not get involved with our new reading project, in collaboration with Holy Trinity Primary School! We are looking for Helping Hands readers to read with Key Stage 2 pupils on Thursday lunchtimes between 12.30pm and 1pm. For more information, please email email@example.com or call 020 7692 2238.
Do you love the outdoors, green spaces and gardening? If so, we could do with your help. We run gardening sessions on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 2:30pm. We'll provide all the training, tools and equipment you'll need. All you'll need to do is wear suitable clothing and outdoor footwear that you don't mind getting dirty. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 7692 2238.
Other ongoing opportunities include... cooking and serving at our monthly soup club and birthday parties, assisting in the Ageactivity Office with admin and phonecalls, taking part in our Steering Group, befriending and more!
Please help us offer a multitude of age and culturally appropriate activities to residents of a highly deprived area.
