The Castlehaven Community Association are hosting a public meeting for local residents to ask a panel of councillors, council officers and MET Police questions on how they are helping to tackle anti-social behaviour, rough sleeping and drug abuse in the Castlehaven Community Parks and surrounding streets.
Over the summer the situation within the parks and surrounding streets has rapidly deteriorated, with more reported instances of drug use and dealing, rough sleeping, crime, defecation and littering.
We have worked hard over the past couple of years with local organisations and services such as the Safer Streets Team, Camden Community Safety Team, local police and the council to try to tackle these problems. We have also raised funding to try and design these issues out, by introducing a new Nature Area, which we think will help alleviate these ongoing problems in a positive and creative way. But we are eager to hear what the community thinks, and if anybody else has other ideas, solutions and questions, please bring these along to our meeting.
The event will include a question and answer session with: All Primrose Hill with Camden Town Ward Councillors - Cllr Patricia Callaghan (Dept Leader of Camden Council), Cllr Lazzaro Pietragnoli (Chief Whip), Cllr Richard Cotton (Chair of Standards Committee), Cllr Adam Harrison (Improving Camden’s Environment), a representative from the MET Police and Castlehaven Community Association’s CEO Eleanor Botwright.
The Public Meeting takes place on Wednesday 26th September 2018, from 18:30 till 20:30pm in the Castlehaven Community Association, The Haven, 23 Castlehaven Road, Camden Town, London, NW1 8RU.
