We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our tutors and students for making our holiday programme a success. The programme offered a real mix of courses so that students could explore new opportunities as well as develop new skills. All four courses ran for a period of three days and were split over three weeks; and we did everything from sports to cooking and stitching to music.
First up, we had our ‘Not Just Football’ course where students participated in multiple sports, including football, cricket and much, much more. The weather did let us down towards the end, but that didn’t stop our students from having fun and socialising with their peers.
In the second week, Nureen tutored our ‘Cooking for Success’ course, which was a huge hit with students. They enjoyed learning about shopping for food and cooking healthy meals. The course ended with a MasterChef styled competition judged by very our own youth team. A very engaging and interactive course, so a massive thanks to Nureen.
In the final week, we had our stitching course where the lovely Jamie from Little Hands Design CIC did a superb job with our students. The students spent time upcycling denim skirts and creating stylish tops. An incredibly talented bunch of students -- well done, guys!
‘It’s All In The Lyrics’ was our final workshop and it gave students the opportunity to write their own lyrics and then record what they came up with in our music studio. Huge thanks to our tutors for making it fun and interactive.
We can’t wait to see what happens in next year’s programme!
